Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a representative from Trip to Gorilla Safaris will warmly welcome you and guide you through a smooth transfer to Kampala. After checking in at the lodge, you will receive a briefing about your safari, including essential travel information and what to expect on the journey ahead. The rest of the day is free for relaxation as you recover from your flight and enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes.

Day 2: Rhino Tracking at Ziwa – Continue to Murchison Falls NP
After breakfast, begin your journey north towards Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience. Led by trained rangers, you will approach the rhinos on foot, giving you a rare opportunity to observe these endangered giants at close range. Continue your drive through beautiful countryside, stopping for lunch en route before proceeding to the park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and unwind as you prepare for the wildlife adventures of the following days.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise
Begin your day with an early game drive across the northern plains where the concentration of wildlife is high. Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, and many savanna birds. After returning to the lodge for lunch, head out for the famous Nile boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. This relaxing cruise offers sightings of hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and elephants drinking by the riverbank. End the day back at the lodge, enjoying the sounds of nature as you rest.

Day 4: Top of the Falls Visit – Drive to Kibale Forest
After breakfast, visit the top of Murchison Falls where the Nile River forces itself through a narrow 7-meter gap, creating a powerful and dramatic waterfall. Spend time taking photos and enjoying the breathtaking views before beginning your drive south to Kibale Forest. The journey offers scenic landscapes, rolling hills, tea plantations, and traditional homesteads. Arrive in the evening and settle in at your lodge located near the forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kibale Forest visitor center where you will meet your ranger guide for a briefing about chimpanzee tracking. Enter the forest in search of these lively primates and spend one magical hour watching them feed, groom, and play. After lunch, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area rich with birds, primates, and butterflies. The walk offers cultural encounters and beautiful nature experiences before returning to your lodge for dinner.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi – Relaxation & Optional Activities

Spend the day relaxing or enjoy optional activities such as canoeing, hiking, or visiting local communities. This calm environment is ideal for unwinding after the previous days of trekking and wildlife activities.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe / Kampala – Departure
