Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Hotel Transfer

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a professional guide from Trip to Gorilla Safaris will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Take time to relax after your flight and prepare for the incredible wildlife and primate encounters ahead. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy optional activities such as visiting the Entebbe Botanical Gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, begin your journey north to Murchison Falls National Park. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience on foot. Continue to Masindi for lunch before driving into the park. Enter the savanna plains where you may spot elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and more as you head to your lodge. End your day with views of the Nile River and the distant roar of the falls.

Day 3: Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Falls

Start your morning with a sunrise game drive where animals are most active. Look out for lions, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and large herds of buffalo. Return to the lodge for lunch before going on a scenic boat cruise along the Nile. Enjoy sightings of hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and the dramatic Murchison Falls. The boat stops at the base of the falls, where you can take amazing photos and admire the power of the Nile.

Day 4: Top of the Falls Visit & Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Visit the top of Murchison Falls and witness the Nile squeezing through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 45 meters below. After enjoying the viewpoint, begin your scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Travel through rolling hills, villages, tea plantations, and crater lakes. Arrive later in the evening and settle into your lodge surrounded by beautiful forest landscapes.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

Begin your day with a briefing before entering Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Spend one hour observing the chimps as they jump through trees, groom, feed and communicate. After lunch, take a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for birds like the great blue turaco and primates such as red colobus monkeys, vervets and black-and-white colobus.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park + Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its rich wildlife and beautiful scenery. Drive through the Crater Lakes region before entering the park. Later, enjoy an evening game drive as the sun sets over the savanna, spotting elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and possibly big cats warming up for their night hunting.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Enjoy a morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains where you may spot lions, leopards, elephants and Uganda kobs. After lunch, head for a rewarding boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of Africa’s top wildlife viewing areas. The channel is home to hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and many colorful birds along the shores.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a relaxed breakfast before driving to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Continue through rolling hills and lush forests until you reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Check in and enjoy the cool mountain atmosphere.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Today is the highlight of your safari. After a briefing, enter the dense rainforest in search of your assigned gorilla family. The trek can take minutes or several hours depending on their movement. Once you find them, spend one magical hour watching them interact, feed, care for their young, and go about their natural routines. It’s one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences on earth. Return to the lodge for a relaxed afternoon.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful and peaceful lakes. Enjoy a relaxing day with optional activities such as canoeing, swimming, island tours, or simply enjoying the views over the terraced hills. This is the perfect place to unwind after gorilla trekking.

Day 11: Return to Entebbe – Departure

Enjoy your final breakfast before starting the scenic drive back to Entebbe. Stop for lunch and at the Equator for photos and souvenir shopping.
